Ward Mountain Trail Run – Dog Friendly – Nevada
The Ward Mountain Trail Runs are dog friendly and include an 8.5-mile, a 5.5-mile and a 2-mile course. There is an extra cost of $5 per dog and dogs need to start in the back for each race.
Dogs must be leashed and under control at all times. Owners must pick up after their dogs, of course.
There is a large parking lot at the Ward Mountain Service Campgrounds at Group Site A for participants.
The 2-mile course is on mostly dirt roads and is slightly rolling with 270 feet of elevation gain. The 5.5-mile course is also gently rolling, followed by some switchbacks. Total elevation gain is 727 feet.
For the 8.5-mile runners, the total elevation gain is 1,250 feet with rolling hills and some switchbacks.
There are no aid stations for the 2-mile course, one aid station for the 5.5 milers and two aid stations for the 8.5-mile course.
