Race to the Top of Vermont 4.3-mile run, bike, hike
Race to the Top of Vermont if a 4.3-mile run, bike or hike up Vermont’s highest mountain. Leashed dogs are allowed in the hiking division.
Elevation gain is 2,564 feet. Elevation at the start is 1,279 feet and the summit is 3,843 feet. The entire course is up hill at about an 11 percent incline. There is a water station at the 2.7-mile mark and at the finish line at the top.
Once they reach the top, participants still need to make their way down the mountain again, even though the race ends at the top. Most people hike down the Toll Road and cheer other participants on. There will be a very limited shuttle option for those hikers who need it at the end of the day.
Money raised from this event goes to the Catamount Trail Association.
